Kurt Hoffmann pictures of 1978 Saab 99 Turbo
before purchase and from trip with son Jaden
to pick up car in Seattle and drive back to
Redding, CA. Mileage as of 9/21/06: 219,000.
I
purchased this1978 Saab 99 Turbo in December 2005. My son, Jaden
- who was just under 3 at the time - joined me in what was one of
the most rewarding experiences of my life, mostly because he was
with me.This is the 4th Saab I have bought sight-unseen except for
photos, 3 of which I found on Saabnet.
Jaden and I flew from Redding to Seattle with a brief stop in Portland.
Alan and his wife met us at the airport and we hopped in the car
and were on our way for a 3-day drive down I-5. The 99 did not miss
a beat along the way. My other Saab is a 2001 Viggen.
Previous Saabs include: 1982
Saab 900 - I bought this one in New Mexico in 2001
from my best friend. Another great trip. Could be the considered
the most boring Saab I owned, but I really loved this car. Had many
great Sunday drives into the mountains with my boys. I loved how
simple it was - no power anything. Sold in January 2006. See
photos.
1993
Saab 900 Turbo convertible - This was my first Saab,
found on Saabnet. I bought it shortly after I met my wife in 2000.
Flew to LA on a Friday morning and drove back to Santa Rosa, CA
where I was living at the time. Sold this car in Spring 2003 shortly
after Jaden's birth in January to help cover diaper bills. See
photos.
