Mechanic’s special on this rare and wonderful 99 Turbo! Car starts easily, but needs work. Straight body, but starting to show signs of rust in typical places: rocker panels, fender lips. Paint starting to peel on hood.
Could be a reliable daily driver with some work, a great tear down restoration project, or a solid donor car for another Saab 99 project.
Interior is in surprisingly good shape: interior trim parts, door cards, and dash have weathered well for a 34 year old vehicle.
The good:
• 16 valve 900 turbo engine conversion mated to original 4spd tranny
• Engine rebuilt in 2006
• Vintage momo wood steering wheel
• Inca allow wheels
• Original 99 seats replaced with 900 style seats
• Sliding sunroof
The not-so-good:
• Needs a CV joints or transmission work. Clutch engages and you can run through the gears, but has difficulty moving.
• Turbo gauge not working
• Speedometer gauge not working
• Battery was relocated to rear and could use a better mounting option.
• Passenger seat coils worn
• Engine leaks a bit of oil
